IS THE COTERIE FOR YOU?

Founded in Brooklyn, we believe that skincare should be simple, minimal, yet effective.

The
Clay
Bar

Our selection of natural clays give our deeply humectifying bars the ability to draw out our skin's impurities with it's detoxifying properties.

Our
herb
ethics

We personally source our ingredients directly from farms and ethical providers. We know not only the origins of every botanical that goes into our bar, but the people behind it as well.

From
the
source

Sourcing for ethical botanical ingredients has led us to a bi-continental exploration to connect with valuable local growers to formulate our signature recipe.

As a studying herbologist, En Tsao started Even Keel with the belief in the importance of crafting handmade bars using ingredients at it's freshest possible state to retain it's beneficial qualities.

OUR CLAY BARS

START WITH A CLAY BASE

  • Bentonite Clay
  • French Rose Clay
  • Dead Sea Clay
  • Moroccan Clay
  • Activated Charcoal
  • Bentonite Clay

Composed of aged volcanic ash, this clay’s name comes from the largest known deposit of Bentonite Clay located in Fort Benton, Wyoming. It carries a strong negative charge which bonds to the positive charge in many toxins. Meaning, on contact with a toxin, chemical, or heavy metal, the clay will absorb the toxin and release it’s minerals for the body to use. Bentonite also helps get oxygen to cells as it pulls excess hydrogen and allows the cells to replace it with oxygen instead.

  • French Rose Clay

The iron oxide that is naturally present in Rose Clay attributes to the clay’s beautiful pink hue. Perfect for sensitive skin, it doesn’t overly zap the skin of it’s natural oils. Used regularly, the exfoliating and polishing action gradually reduces the appearance of pores, and helps increase circulation, which in turn, tones down inflammation and puffiness.

  • Dead Sea Clay

Sourced from the bottom of the Dead Sea, it has the high concentration of minerals that are easily absorbed by the skin: Calcium promotes cell renewal, while maintaining a strong barrier to hold onto moisture. Sodium fights off free radicals that accelerate the aging process. Magnesium soothes damaged skin. Sulfur helps to detoxify skin of impurities while Potassium helps to balance skin moisture. Bromide repairs skin cells to restore vitality to the complexion. Suitable for all skin types.

  • Moroccan Clay

From the ancient deposits in the fertile Atlas Mountains of Morocco, it’s the best clay to use for ridding the complexion of blackheads, toning the skin, and to re-balance dry, flaky skin with regular use. Suitable for normal-oily skin.

  • Activated Charcoal

The black sheep of the lot, activated charcoal may not be a clay but it’s superb detoxifing properties earned it it’s right to be regularly used in our collection. It’s gritty texture binds to and helps pull the dirt out of your pores, making them less visible. with regular use as it’s the oil and dirt that makes them appear bigger. Used as a deep cleanse, this should be used on your face only twice a week or if it’s oily.
